Wrexham CAMHS offers a - service to children, young people and families. We provide an extensive offer to our local community including significant early intervention and prevention services, unscheduled care, an Early Years - service and a broad range of NICE recommended and other evidence based interventions.

We are a dynamic and committed multidisciplinary team of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapists, Child Looked After and CAMHS Practitioners with a range of core professional backgrounds and Assistant Psychologists. Significant joint working takes place with multi-agency partners with whom we have very good relationships. We also have excellent links with the Bangor Clinical Psychology Programme and provide regular placements and training.

Across East CAMHS (Wrexham and Flintshire) we are an established and supportive team of Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists. We are fully integrated into CAMHS and are highly regarded in our services. We are part of a committed and varied multidisciplinary team. Significant joint working takes place with multi-agency partners with whom we have very good relationships.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will undertake a range of assessments and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions, alongside some Care Co-Ordination. They will promote psychological thinking and formulation within a multidisciplinary team and provide consultation to multi-agency professionals and families. Supervision of others, delivery of training, leadership and service development will also form an integral part of this development role.

We are looking for a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist who has relevant experience and can evidence their commitment to clinical quality, evidence-based practice and maintaining high professional standards for themselves and others.

On commencing in post, the successful applicant will have a development plan and agree a target timescale of between months and years for completion, depending on current skills and experience. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Senior Clinical Psychologist. Promotion to a substantive a post will be achieved on fulfilling required competencies. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
