Responsibilities

As the lead certification engineer you will be responsible for the development and delivery of certification artifacts to meet customer requiremnts of time, cost and quality. You will be required to work with a variety of stakholders across the programme to ensure Certifcation activities are scheduled and outputs are achievable, this includes Supply Chain, Programme / Project management and engineering teams. You will be involved in the management and preparation of all certification data to the customer. Engage where required with lloyds registry to ensure thier active involvement in the Certifcation Plan, ensuring they are maintained as involved throughout the progress leading towards certification. You will be the technical subject matter expert for certification. You will be customer focused ensuring you maintain a tight grip of customer concerns, issues adn dependancies, ensuring a costomer satisfaction right first time approach. You will also be responsible for the following:Daily support and management of the Certification Management PlanMananagement, capture and maturity of certification data. in support of the plan.Authoring and updates to certifcation processes.Communication of issues concerning certification.Risk Management of certifcation activitiesAgreeing and delivering the Certification Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Presenting and delivering cohesive certification strategy to senior leadership team.Authoring Certification reports.Regular updates and reports via written and presentations

Qualifications

You'll be educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or have relevant knowledge and experience; a background in maritime safety is highly beneficial for the roles we are looking to fill.

Applications are also welcomed from individuals with significant demonstrable experience who don’t hold formal qualifications Registered as a Chartered Engineer (or be working towards chartered status).

Essential Skills

A strong background and understanding of certifaction of air. land, or maritime systems and platforms. Experience in developing effective partnerships with key stakeholder, with the ability to influence and challenge where required.

An understanding of Marine Defence or Civil Industry legislation requirements and systems engineering approaches.

Significant experience in leading or supporting Certification Activities.

Understanding of data maturity and information relationships and the ability to apply the understanding.

Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and relay complex technical discussions and issues.

Experience with developing and delivering certifcation strategies Experience with developing and delivering certification plans Someone for whom collaboration and working in partnership comes naturally. A confident communicator with the ability to negotiate You will also be self-motivated with an energetic attitude, being able to transform complex problems into simple, elegant solution. Someone who understands ‘how’ you do things is just as important as ‘what’ you do – who will role model and apply our Principles (see below) A person who is resilient and adaptable, who can navigate ambiguity and complexity and help teams own and deliver day to day

What do I need before I apply

This role may require security clearance upto SC level and our offer of employment will be dependent on obtaining the appropriate level of clearance. The details of this requirement will be discussed at interview.
