Job summary
We are looking for Specialty Doctors for all Psychiatry within our Health Board on one of our four sites, across the counties of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. All areas of psychiatry are welcomed including, General Adult, both community and in-patient, CAMHS and site location to be discussed with the successful candidates.
This will be subject to change as the Health Board's clinical requirements are amended to meet the needs of the service/patients.
Our Mental Health Service has an excellent track record, and has won national prizes from the Royal College of Psychiatry (RCPsych) award for its dedication to improve adult mental health services in mid and west Wales, withtwo of our high-flying consultant psychiatrists winning prestigious awards from the British Medical Association (BMA) for Learning Innovation and Outstanding Achievement.
Main duties of the job
We are working hard Transforming Mental Health Services within the Health Board and our core purpose is to work with people and lead communities in improving their mental and physical health and wellbeing for a better life; through delivering excellent and responsive prevention, diagnosis, early intervention, treatment and care.
If you are a senior doctor wishing to gain experience in the UK, and persue CESR, we are the only Health Board in Wales offering a structured CESR pathway. This scheme is recognised by the Wales Deanery and Royal College of psychiatrists. The posts offer excellent opportunities to gain valuable experience in busy and supportive departments within the Mental Health Service. We have a strong Psychotherapy unit and would offer acting up to Locum Consultant during this programme as well as dedicated support and Section 12 approval to become an Approved Clinician.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice 4 years full-time postgraduate training (or part-time equivalent), at least 2 of which in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty Or as fixed term specialty trainee in a relelvant specialty MBBS or recognised equivalent
