Overview of the role:
The role of the Materials Planner is to plan and control an assigned portfolio of parts from multiple suppliers in accordance with scheduled demand. Planning and expediting parts are core activities of this varied and rewarding job.
A real sense of urgency, excellent problem solving skills and the ability to communicate cross-functionally are pre-requisites for this highly visible role in a complex manufacturing facility.
This role is based at our Earthmovers site in Cheadle, Staffordshire.
Your Responsibilities as a Materials Planner:
Material Requirements Planning from an international supply base in line with scheduled requirements and any changes to build planManagement of supplier adherence to scheduleContinuity of supply of parts to assembly and manufacturing operationsInventory Management – Maintenance of MRP Parameters, continual review of stock levels to budget and transactional accuracy.Pro-active review and continuous improvement of suppliers / logistics / transportation / packagingMaintenance of performance in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)Problem solving / process improvement initiativesAbout you:
Demonstrable materials planning experienceWorking knowledge of SAP/Production planning systems is essentialExcellent communication skillsHighly PC literateWell organisedAbility to work to tight deadlinesGood analytical and problem solving skillsDriven to achieve resultsWhat’s in it for you?
