The Role:
As a Art/ Design & Technology Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to explore the world of design and technology. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students
- Providing hands-on instruction in a variety of areas, such as product design, engineering, graphics, and textiles
- Encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through project-based learning activities
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities that enhance students' understanding of design and technology concepts
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their development and achievement
- Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported to reach their full potential
Requirements as a Art/ DT Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a background in Design & Technology education, preferably in Food technology
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in the field of design and technology and/or Art
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- The ability to create engaging and innovative teaching resources and activities
- Experience working with secondary school students and an understanding of the national curriculum requirements for Design & Technology
- A commitment to promoting health and safety practices in the design and technology workshop
