Overview: A selection of warm and welcoming secondary schools in Southampton are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants. Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and well-structured lessons.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of lesson plans.
  • Foster positive learning environments where students feel safe and supported.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help.
  • Assist with the assessment of students' progress and provide feedback.
  • Adapt support methods to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and house competitions, fostering students' interests and talents.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in a teaching assistant role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
  • Experience working with secondary school students is preferred.
