Role Purpose

At NAGRA Media UK we are committed to building innovative solutions and are looking for talented individuals to help grow our OpenTV Video Platform. Today we deliver both Kubernetes and Cloud Native services into AWS for multiple customers around the world. As we grow and transition to a more DevOps orientated approach, we require flexible Software Engineers who excel and enjoy using multiple technologies and can identify the correct cloud strategy to achieve the right solution to a given problem. This covers the right programming language to bring the functional changes to support new requirements, but also the understanding and desire to work on the supporting infrastructure as code. Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, debug and implement high quality, scalable and robust cloud application services, ensuring both functional and non-functional requirements are fully tested via an automated pipeline. Collaborate with Architects and Product Owners to understand acceptance criteria and provide appropriate estimates for work items. Evolve and maintain deployment scripts for releases into Cloud environments Deliver appropriate documentation including and where appropriate low-level designs, user documentation and API specifications. Adopt and champion core engineering practices including Test Automation and Continuous Delivery Troubleshoot, diagnose and find solutions to issues that arise with software deployed in customer environments.

You have a strong technical background with excellent analytical and problem-solving You enjoy working in a cross functional manner You have a very good understanding of the best practices around CI/CD and DevOps concepts in software delivery. You care about quality, testing and automation and know what it means to ship high quality code You take operational responsibility for the services you build and maintain You are proactive with a can-do attitude You have outstanding verbal and written communication
Technical Experience

Essential
Experience and proficiency in the following technologies and systems Java 17 (and above) and common frameworks g. Spring Boot Databases (. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis). Strong understanding of RESTful web services Building and deploying functionality with an event driven architecture using; AWS Lambda, RDS, SNS, Event Bridge and other Amazon Web Services. Using scripting, for example JavaScript and js. Good knowledge of Kubernetes and associated tooling g. Helm Good working knowledge with various tools and systems used to support software development/delivery process (. Git, Artifactory, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker etc ) Experience of deployment scripting and automation . SAM, Terraform and Ansible Robust knowledge of Source control, Continuous Integration and Release management Knowledge and experience integrating with external systems. Ability to demonstrate current knowledge and awareness of new technology trends and development techniques within the software industry.
