Telford, United Kingdom CityFibre Full time
Job Description

This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You’ll join your colleagues in your local office 2-3 days a week.

Please note, you will be required to cover 24 x 7 callout rota

As the UK’s largest fibre-only network, and its only proven wholesale challenger, we’re busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.

Designed from scratch for the internet, our network is greener, more reliable and ready for the future. The products we provide over it not only lead the market on speed, value and service, they help businesses to innovate, provide entire communities with a better foundation for their digital lives and support economic growth, locally and nationally.

What does that mean for you? The opportunity to make internet connections (and daily life) a whole lot better, for a lot of people

Joining us as a Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineers work with Agile Release Trains to ensure we build services that work well at scale. We're looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who can help us design, build, and maintain high performance, scalable, reliable services. You will work within our Platform team to build and run the core components that power the CityFibre ecosystem.

You’ll receive a salary of up to £60,000, a performance related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.
  • Actively improve reliability, quality and scalability of our systems through the use of automation.
  • Aid capacity management activities around new releases such as product launches.
  • Conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and load testing to ensure our systems can handle current and future workloads.

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll bring extensive problem-solving experience to identify root causes and implement effective solutions, ensuring that issues are resolved and do not reoccur. You’ll also bring experience in:

  • Cloud, preferably AWS
  • PHP or Python
  • CI/CD technologies
  • Event Driven Architecture
