Job summary

Working with our existing nursing team, seeing a varity of patients delivering a wide range of care. The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working in a primary care environment.

They will be an excellent communicator, work weel under pressure, be able to effectively manage their time, flexible and be able to work as part of a team as well as automously.

The successful applicant will ideally work full time MOnday to Frida, hwoever part time hours will beconsidered but these will include a Friday.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have experience and skills in some or all of the following areas, however training will be provided if required:

a. Assistin and perform tasks related to patient care as directed by Management and GPs

b. Delivering chronic disease care as per current protocols and requirements in Diabetes, Respiratory, Coronary Heart Disease etc as per QOF and current requirements.

c. Cytology

d. Routineimmunisations/Childhood immunisations

e. Chaperoningand assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by anotherclinician

f. AssistingGPs as requested

g. Requestingpathology tests, for example swabs & actioning results

h. Contraception.

i. Followingagreed clinical protocols with referral to Nurse Lead or GPs as appropriate

Job responsibilities

Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Treatment Room Nurse (with CDskills). There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; thiswill be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. Assistin and perform tasks related to patient care as directed by Management and GPs

b. Cytology

c. Routineimmunisations/Childhood immunisations

d. Chaperoningand assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by anotherclinician

e. AssistingGPs as requested

f. Requestingpathology tests, for example swabs & actioning results

g. Contraception.

h. Followingagreed clinical protocols with referral to Nurse Lead or GPs as appropriate

Inaddition to the primary responsibilities, our Nursing Team may be requested to:

a. Maintainand clean equipment used by the Nurses and GPs

b. MaintainGP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required

c. Maintaingeneral tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms

d. Orderingof Health Promotion Literature

e. Ensureadequate stock levels of clinical consumables are maintained

f. Ensurevaccinations maintain stock levels are maintained

g. Participationin administrative systems in the Practice

h. Atall times there will be a need to maintain accurate records

i. Aduty to advise Nurse Lead/ GP partners of potential problems or errors withinthe range of assigned tasks

j. Attendand participate in any Practice/Nurse meetings when required.

k. Onoccasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits

l. Participatein Practice audit as directed by the aduit lead

m. Participatein local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

n. Supportand participate in shared learning within the Practice

o. Anyother delegated duties appropriate to the post
