£31,794 per annum

In this role you will utilise the latest technology to wind the main stators and rotors for use in aircraft motors and generators.

The Role:
• Winding and assembling of aircraft generators and rotors
• Following Engineering drawings and work instructions
• Operate machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Strip, survey and fitting experience for generators and motors
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to work area and processes.

The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion.

Job Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we're also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we'd love to hear from you:

• • Impregnation experience
• ME winding and build
• Knowledge of IPC solder standards
• Gold soldering
• Proven ability using a multitude of hand tools including screw drivers, pliers, cutters, torque
wrenches, jigs and fixtures, and other manual hand tools.
• Ability to read Engineering Drawings, Engineering Layouts and related documentation
Can self-inspect products using bench Electrical equipment (flash/surge/resistance) &
mechanical equipment and judge pass/fail/refer to Line Manager
• Potential to learn finish rotor build
• Awareness of Quality Management System ISO 9001 / AS9100
• Ability to lift equipment/generators up to 25kg
• Ability to read Engineering Drawings, Engineering Layouts and related documentation
• A good level of literacy and numeracy
• Good IT literacy and a working knowledge of PC operations (i.e. Windows, Windows Explorer, excel, pdf's)
