What is the job role?

Due to the temporary secondment of the current post holder, we are looking for an experienced SEND leader with immediate availability to sustain our relentless journey towards excellence. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

You will provide strategic leadership and management across the Coventry SEND partnership, ensuring that the local authority fulfills its statutory responsibilities. This includes securing a diverse range of high-quality, inclusive provisions to meet the needs of all individuals within our community.

You will also be responsible for:

Championing the rights of children and young people with additional needs from a range of diverse backgrounds by securing in partnership positive pathways to adulthood, by ‘lifting the cloud of limitation’. Maximising value for money across high needs and Dedicated Schools Grant areas of responsibility. Ensuring that exemplary safeguarding standards are maintained across the Coventry education system.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
