About The Role:

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing support to students who may require additional emotional and mental health assistance. Your role will be vital in fostering a safe and nurturing environment where students can flourish both academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one and group support tailored to the needs of students with mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers to cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Assist students in developing coping strategies and enhancing their social skills.
  • Monitor student progress and provide insights to the teaching team.
  • Work closely with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure holistic care for each student.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with young people in a supportive capacity, preferably in educational or mental health settings.
  • A compassionate and patient demeanor, with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and their effects on learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others as well as independently.

To work with GSL Education as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Submit an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps).
  • Be open to undergoing an enhanced DBS check.

Please be aware that this position necessitates a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful candidates must complete all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS.
