Located on a small island, HMP Isle of Wight is 8 minutes from St Marys Hospital and 26 minutes away from Cowes Ferry Terminal. At HMP Isle of Wight there is a high level of long term condition patient needs and this role would suit a GP who is interested in end to end care as well as leading a team of 2 GP's and 2 ANP 'S. The site also has an 18 bed inpatient unit and the role would cover daily rounds on the wards.

Hoursour core hours of operation are 07:30 -17:30 Salary

This position is full time 40 hours a week and youll receive an annual salary up to £120,000 per annum depending on experience.Golden Hello

£3,000 (£1,000 in 6 months of service, £1,000 after 12 months and £1,000 after 24 months of service - conditions apply).

Main duties of the job

As a Lead General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will Provide medical leadership and expert advice, regarding medical and primary care issuesSupport other GPs and ANP's working in the service with peer review & clinical supervisionOversee the induction of new GPs into the local siteIdentify and utilise evidence based best practice through benchmarking and clinical guidelinesEnsure systems and processes in place for managing results, letters, tasksSupport the development of Local Operating PoliciesSupport the Head of Healthcare at Local Delivery Board meetingsAttend Clinical ForumsReviewing CVs for potential new GPs and locum/agency GPs and support the recruitment of new GPs into the service If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.
