We are looking for a dedicated Learning Coach to join a Secondary School in Barking. This full-time contract role is ideal for someone passionate about providing academic and pastoral support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

 

As a Learning Coach, you will work closely with students to offer personalised support, focusing on areas such as behaviour management, study skills, and emotional well-being. You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure students engage with the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional development and is ideal for someone eager to make a positive impact on students' educational journeys.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group coaching to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop tailored learning plans.
  • Offer pastoral care and support, helping students manage behaviour, develop study skills, and build self-confidence.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adapting support strategies as needed.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Coach or in a similar support role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and coaching strategies in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, proactive, and supportive approach to assisting students with diverse needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
