About You:

You will be required to routinely prepare and test items/samples, completion of associated quality control activities, and reporting of results within the scope of the laboratory using both basic and advanced instrument techniques for which they are trained.

Key Requirements:

Knowledge of the Oil Gas and Chemicals industry is advantageous Good knowledge of chemistry with preferable experience in international analytical standards, operational procedures, analytical equipment, and methods such as IP and ASTM methods Knowledge of chromatography techniques, such as HPLC, GC and GCMS both theoretical and practical Knowledge and experience working within the chemistry industry Analytical laboratory techniques beneficial, for example, XRF, AA, ICP etc Excellent interpretation skills, analytical thinking and problem-solving, good IT literacy skills Initiative and self-development orientation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Able to understand client requirements and formulate a plan of action involving own techniques, sometimes involving colleagues from other teams as necessary

About The Opportunity:

You will be required to perform sample analysis to an acceptable standard and in accordance with established procedures and maintain accurate records of testing and sample observations and calculation. This will include all testing and preparation activities, using both basic and advanced instrument techniques.

Key Duties:

Ensuring all work carried out in the Laboratory follows the agreed procedures as set out in the local Management system Ensuring the timely reporting of results and ensuring all data is recorded as per site procedure Producing reports for samples tested and input of sample results into the local reporting system Advise the Shift Team Leader/Team Leader/Laboratory Operations Supervisor soon as practical of any Operational or QHSE issues that arise during normal working hours Assisting in carrying out method development in conjunction with the QHSE Manager if required Undertaking additional miscellaneous duties, as directed by the Shift Team Leader/Team Leader/ Laboratory Operations Supervisor. Monitor Stocks and consumables Ensure that KPIs set by management objectives are met Calibration, maintenance and organising repair/maintenance by an engineer if required of equipment in designated areas
