The CAMHs team is part of a supportive and innovative child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) in Southampton. The aim of this service is to support a child/young person in continuing with their mental health recovery at home with their families with the right support and most importantly the least restrictive.

The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision and support. This is a great opportunity to join our team in Solent NHS Trust Children & Families Service line to support in the delivery of high-quality children's mental health services. We are looking for exceptional individuals with the right attitude, skills and knowledge who share our passion to deliver the best quality care experience for children and their families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing a highly skilled and specialist Intervention on both an individual and group basis as appropriate using techniques and knowledge gained through experience, self-development, and evidence-based practice.

They will ensure that a high quality, timely, accessible, and evidence-based service is available to all service users who need it throughout the team.

The post holder will work autonomously in carrying out therapeutic work based on clear theoretical concepts and the application of related techniques and will be responsible for providing assessment, case management and intervention to children, young people and their families / carers. The post holder will also complete intervention on disordered eating. Alongside the clinical aspect of the role the post holder will be involved in developing and sustaining partnership working with individuals, groups, communities and agencies, providing clinical supervision to trainees and other professionals and contributing to service development as appropriate.

About us

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by the end of 2024.

Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.

The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on the day the trust is formed. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.

Qualifications

Essential

, RMCN, RNLD or other nurse qualification with LD/CAMHS experience considered. Postgraduate level of study/degree relevant to discipline or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential

Significant or demonstrable experience in mental health to show the breadth/depth of experience required for the role. Crisis management skills Community care experience Stress management Knowledge and experience in child protection/safeguarding procedures, to recognise abuse and escalate appropriately within statutory timeframes. To hold a clinical caseload of complex health needs including mental health as a lead professional within a multi-agency team. Ability to work autonomously
