HGV Jet Vac Engineer

The Lanes Group needs an HGV Jet Vac Engineer to join our Operational Teams in Cardiff, to join our growing depot operational network. 

The job:

You will be part of a two-person team, operating our high specification jetting equipment and vacuumation units. Work Projects, will include any drainage related issues, including blockage clearance, pipe cleansing programmes and emergency reactive works

Although you start at the depot, you will be mobile attending to all work activities, within various work sectors, including industrial, rail, utility, commercial, residential.

About you:

You may already be familiar with high pressure jetting equipment and / or drainage networks, but no problem if not, as full training will be given for the right candidates.

You will be required to hold an HGV Class 2 licence, with no more than 3 penalty points, a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and Digicard.

You can become a successful Utilities Waste-Water Technician if you have problem-solving, listening, critical thinking, teamworking abilities and a customer focused approach. Also, as you need to be able to operate machinery, excellent hand-eye coordination and concentration are essential skills. The following skills are also useful:

  • Physical fitness and lots of energy.
  • Positive ‘Can Do’ attitude
  • An in date CSCS card would be advantageous
  • To work in the Utilities sector, you may have to compete with inclement weather outdoors and you may be asked to travel to different sites during the course of the shift. The workday starts early, especially during the summer, when there is light in the morning but drains can be blocked at any hour of the day and emergency assistance can often be needed in evenings and weekends.

You will be expected to comply with all Group Health Safety and Environmental compliance, full Training with be provided as part of a Group Induction Training package.

Hours of work  40 hours per week (usually 7 - 4) overtime applicable
