Your Role

and What You'll Be Doing

The Court of Protection is the judicial body responsible for making decisions relating to the management of finances and other affairs of those individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves. As one of the UK’s leading firms of solicitors, we have a dedicated and experienced team who specialise in all matters relating to the Court of Protection. 

You’ll join Partner Louisa Chadwick, a specialist in the field of damages management. Louisa undertakes mental capacity and Court of Protection work with a primary focus on dealing with high value deputyships, as well as personal injury Trusts. She has extensive experience of supporting vulnerable clients and providing advice to lay clients and professionals in this niche and specialised area of law.

The successful candidate will manage a number of high value and/or complex cases within court of Protection, whilst also taking on leadership duties for a small team which include coaching, mentoring, goal setting and employee relations, etc. You'll also be expected to lead on client work, proactively undertaking business development activities to support Partners in growing the business and delivering excellent client service. 

About You

We're looking for a Senior Associate with a personable nature, who thinks critically, enjoys solving problems, has a passion for Court of Protection matters and wants to lead a small team. Our ideal candidate will have the following

Demonstratable understanding of the litigation processes alongside Court of Protection matters Experience leading a team Experience in business development and leading client work is essential Understanding litigation processes alongside Court of Protection work Some experience with Mental Capacity Work High level of accountability Leading and participating in practice development Highly organised Commercial awareness Ability to work collaboratively and independently Ability to work in a pressurised environment Our Benefits - What We Can Offer You Flexible working options - Make work fit around your life, not the other way around. 25 days holidays as standard plus bank holidays - You can ‘buy’ up to 35hrs of extra holiday too Generous and flexible pension schemes.
