Your Role EF Eastbourne has an exciting opportunity to support the Summer Residence Team, ensuring our international students are well cared for and that a safe and comfortable living environment is maintained at all times. This is an ideal role for anyone who is passionate about customer service, working with international students and with a strong ability to work independently and take ownership of situations. Responsibilities Prioritizing the safeguarding of all EF students and staff Checking that rooms are ready, clean and available for arriving students  Preparing registration documents for new students  Meeting & greeting new students on arrival  Assisting with checking in & taking students to rooms  Informing arriving students about rules and community standards Regularly checking rooms to ensure facilities are in good condition & being well maintained & cleaned  Curfew checks (overnight on call at the residence)  Ensuring that reported maintenance issues are dealt with efficiently by residence staff  Assisting students with problems  Ensuring that residence rules are being adhered to and report all issues to residence manager Liaising with Staff responsible about any issues or problems  Ensuring that when on call, emergency phone must be answered at all times  Issuing on-the-spot fines in liaison with the Residence Staff  Liaising with the Residence Staff, organising and partaking in weekly activities  Run activities at the residence  Reminding departing students of leaving date & procedures Requirements Is reliable, responsible, and able to work independently with common sense  Is approachable, confident, and has a friendly personality Is customer service oriented  Has strong communication skills Has a flexible approach and is comfortable working in a busy environment Has a killer instinct and a pro-active and problem-solving mindset Has an ability to handle difficult situations with ease & remain calm under pressure  Has the ability to make independent decisions but consult when appropriate Has a sensitive approach to welfare issues Clear DBS check and two references Right to work in the UK Fluent in English Why you will love working with EF Eastbourne · Continuous professional development · Work in a truly international environment · Regular social events · Ambition is nurtured and fast-tracked career enhancement opportunities are provided · Staff are encouraged to innovate, take ownership of their ideas and bring them to fruition · Global career opportunities · External trainings on safeguarding and mental health first aid · Summer camp canteen · Accommodation provided in return for residence duties/subsidised · 10-min walk from Eastbourne Seaside What do our staff say? “I love being exposed to different cultures and I get to practice other languages.” “There is never a boring day.” “I like all the staff and we work as a team.
