The Role

Band 7 OccupationalTherapist is required to help deliver and plan the new Childrens and YoungPeoples Sensory Service. A band 7 OTwith experience and qualifications in sensory is required. The post includes delivering a virtualuniversal and targeted training to parents/carers and schools as well asdeveloping the specialist provision. This is a in-person post with a hybrid workingmodel, virtual working will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To provide a highly specialist OccupationalTherapy assessment, intervention and advice service for children & youngpeople whose sensory processing is impacting on their participation inactivities of everyday living and access the service via a 3-tiered offer(universal, targeted and specialist). This will include working withparents/carers, educational settings, the voluntary sector and other healthprofessionals. You may need to work within the childrens centres, educationalsettings and homes.

To provide workshop/training packages to parentsand children and the young peoples workforce to build their confidence toassist the service user in self management strategies.

To supervise, train and performance managejunior, and student occupational therapists as delegated by the OperationalManager and Clinical Quality Leads.

To participate and contribute to thedevelopment, maintenance, and evaluation of the CYP Sensory Service.

To lead on designated aspects of service inconjunction with Clinical Quality Lead and Highly Specialist Therapists.

To ensure a high standard of child and familycentred service delivery is achieved and work autonomously demonstratingeffective management and leadership skills.
