About the team and the role

The successful candidate will need to:

Review and negotiate heads of terms for new property acquisitions; Draft and negotiate leases, agreements for lease, sale agreements, transfers and surrenders; Perform title due diligence on properties including the raising of searches and enquiries; Oversee post-completion matters such as SDLT returns and Land Registry applications; Review and negotiate licences for alterations, wayleaves, dilapidations settlement agreements and other property management documents; Assist with rent reviews; Deal with landlord and tenant issues and liaise with landlords; Instruct and supervise external counsel, including managing associated budgets; Respond to queries from colleagues and assist them with their real estate/planning-related issues. It will be beneficial to have familiarity with planning law and the ability to spot planning issues in order to refer them for specialist planning advice; Produce and assist in giving training to colleagues; and Assist with the property aspects of construction and engineering contracts.


In addition, the successful candidate will need to identify and implement good practice and create template documents and keep up-to-date with new legislation and case law.


Who you are Qualified solicitor with specialism in commercial property law of 5-7 years’ PQE; Experience in private practice (and in-house roles would be ideal); Good academic qualifications; Clear drafting technique; Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload; Good business acumen and commercially astute; Personable, with the ability to work well within a team environment and build relationships; and Excellent communication and negotiation skills
