Scope & Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Configuration Technician role is to configure and optimize network devices, including Routers, Switches, Access Points, and IP Phones. You will have full responsibility for the configuration and testing across a variety of IT hardware such as tablets, laptops, customer order displays, kiosks, tills, and servers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network hardware, strong technical proficiency, and a passion for ensuring the seamless handover to operation of our network infrastructure.
What youll be doing:
Device Configuration and testing duties across a variety of IT hardware such as tablets, laptops, customer order displays, kiosks, tills, switches, routers, and servers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network changes. Configure and optimize hardware to meet network requirements. Resolve general device faults through troubleshooting and remote/direct access. Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics where required. Update and maintain detailed documentation for all network configurations. Manage personal tasks in line with the schedule of work. Perform quality control checks in line with departmental expectations, raising concerns where applicable. Provide technical support for hardware-related issues and incidents. Verify deployments and perform handover to operations tests. Carry out any other duties such as maintenance, evaluation, and hardware cleaning.Who are we looking for?
Experience in either the IT sector, configuration, or EPOS sector with exposure to a multitude of networking, hardware, and software deployments. Technical knowledge of Wireless Technologies and general Wireless principles. Strong understanding of network protocols and services. Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST), CompTIA Network+ or a demonstration of working towards, a Bachelors degree in information technology, Network Administration, or a related field. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting networking devices. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, able to communicate concisely and clearly at all levels with both internal and external customers. Physically adaptable and capable, recognising the physical elements of the role. Good understanding and working knowledge of modern Windows operating systems. Ability to work to a high level of concentration while performing repetitive or basic configuration tasks. Excellent attention to detail, time management and self-motivation.What do we offer?
