An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Service Manager based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What you will do:

North Ayrshire H&SCP is looking to appoint a permanent Service Manager for the Pan Ayrshire Unscheduled Care Mental Health Service. This service is critical in supporting individuals presenting in mental health crisis over 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

You will manage unscheduled care mental health services ensuring the effective management of a defined team/s. Supporting the Senior Manager in the setting of standards and performance improvements and the achievement of agreed outcomes in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Partnership’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

You will lead the effective and timeous implementation of relevant legislation, national guidance or policy and inform the Senior Manager on any implications to the performance of unscheduled care mental health services or functions.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Masters qualification or equivalent knowledge/experience.

You must be able to demonstrate the necessary management and leadership skills required for this senior role, and role model the values and behaviours expected.

Hours:

37 per week.

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so
