About the Role:

GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic English Graduate to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Lincoln. As an English Graduate within a school in England, your role is pivotal in fostering a deep appreciation for language, literature, and effective communication. Seize this chance to influence the next generation's development within GSL's creative and collaborative teaching atmosphere, receiving valuable support along the way.

Responsibilities of an English Graduate:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of English lessons across various key stages, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum objectives. Engage students through dynamic teaching methods that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Provide targeted support to students who require assistance with reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension skills. Offer one-on-one interventions and small group sessions to address individual learning needs and promote literacy development.
  • Cultivate students' language proficiency by expanding their vocabulary, enhancing their grammar and syntax skills, and improving their spoken communication abilities. Facilitate discussions and debates that promote articulate expression and effective verbal communication.
  • Collaborate with fellow English teachers, support staff, and school leaders to develop cohesive curriculum plans, assessment strategies, and intervention programs.

    Requirements:

  • A degree in English or a related field
  • Passion for literature, language, and education
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
