There is a vacant post of 26hrs available on a part-time basis at Southgate Health Centre, Stevenage

Hours shown below are the base hours for the role, the successful applicant will be flexible, working hours to suit the needs of the clinic and be available Wednesday mornings twice a month for Training and Meetings.

Tuesday to (6 hrs)Wednesdays to (6 hrs)Thursday to (6 hrs)Friday to (8 hrs)

Main duties of the job

It is our vision to provide effective, efficient, non-judgemental, user-friendly, confidential and integrated services that deliver improvements in sexual health for the population of Hertfordshire. Flexible working is required to include central booking clinic cover and admin duties as required by the management team. The post holder will require flexibility to work evenings as and when required.

To maintain and promote at all times confidentiality and be aware of the sensitive nature of the Gum, HIV, sexual health and contraception service. The post holder will act on their own initiative in dealing with day-to-day issues.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To book appointments and manage cancellations or amendments in a timely manner To take initial responsibility for the local resolution of problems that may arise with staff/clients and to deal with complaints according to CLCH (Central London Community Health NHS Trust) policy and procedures To communicate effectively by competent use of email, telephone, written and face-to-face communication according to CLCH guidelines and customer care standards To provide cover for other administrators/team members when necessary or as directed.

Qualifications

Essential

Good level of literacy and numeracy and general education NVQ Admin Level 3 in Administration or equivalent

Desirable

European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equivalent

Experience

Essential

Secretarial or administrative experience in an office environment Experience of working with the public in a customer or client-facing role Experience of inputting to databases, spreadsheets and/or other IT systems and business applications used in the office environment. Experience of taking, producing, and distributing notes as directed

Desirable

Experience of working with patients and carers in a public sector environment Experience of working in a health care environment Knowledge of petty cash and stock ordering procedures
