We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate midwife with a keen interest in clinical research to join the Women’s Health Research Team at UCLH. The role involves leading on recruiting participants and implementation of The Prestige B study.

Main duties of the job

This observational cohort study, a joint initiative between Imperial College London and Tommy’s National Premature Birth Research Centre, with support from Genomics England, aims to uncover genetic determinants of spontaneous preterm delivery through whole genome sequencing.

Spontaneous pre-term birth (sPTB) is a significant global health issue linked to substantial neonatal health challenges. While its causes are multifaceted, there is growing evidence of a significant genetic component.

This study seeks to utilize Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) to explore the intricate genetic factors associated with sPTB across diverse populations. The duration of the post for 6 months in the first instance but with the possibility of an extension.
