We are looking for

a motivated individual to oversee the Emergency Department (ED) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) for a fixed term secondment, with an immediate start for a 10 month period (ending 1st April 2025).

This role requires drive and passion for patient care and safety from a professional with a desire to influence at the highest level, and willingness to work in close partnership with senior clinical and managerial staff within the Trust. The post holder will robustly support patient flow through the ED.

The post holder will be required to lead by example and role model our Trust values to ensure that Trust policies and procedures are followed, and robust governance systems and processes are adhered to.

You are welcome to visit the nursing leadership team and spend some time observing a typical day in the matron role if this role is of interest to you.

Demonstrate politeness, courtesy and sensitivity in providing compassionate care for patients, visitors/relatives and colleagues. Contribute towards sharing good practice within the ward/department and Trust Promote a positive image of University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust at all Work cohesively with all members of the hospital team and promotes effective liaison with all members of the multi-disciplinary team in ensuring that the very best services to patients are provided at all times. Act as an expert communicator, inspiring and acting to disseminate relevant information as well as receiving feedback from staff and patients. Communicate effectively within all teams, participate in motivating and supporting team members and maintain confidentiality with patients and carers. Ensure the dissemination of national and local policy and strategy within an emergency setting Demonstrates excellent clinical nursing skills in caring for young people and adults and their families in an emergency setting. Monitors and ensures standards of nursing care and clinical practice are maintained in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and through clinical care Work directly with nurses, medical and allied health professionals and other clinical health staff supporting and developing their skills in caring for young people and adults in an emergency setting.
