Position:

An opportunity has arisen for a Bank Cook based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.

The main kitchen at Ayrshire Central Hospital provides in excess of 600 patients prepared and cooked meals every day, including therapeutic diets to patients, as well as meal services for the staff and the public. In addition, we cater for and provide hospitality for meetings and functions.

What you will do:

Your duties include the perpetration, cooking and service of meals including any preparation of therapeutic diets when required. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene, recording and monitoring of data for HACCP and the Environmental Health.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You will be an organised person with cooking and kitchen management skills. The ideal candidate must have experience in large scale catering preferably within an NHS environment and hold City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or an S/NVQ qualification along with a Food Hygiene Certificate. You should have the ability to work off your own initiative as well as work as part of a larger team. Good communication skills are also essential.

A degree of flexibility is essential, applicants who wish to be considered, must be available to cover shifts within the department between the hours of 0630 and 1800 including weekends.
