Responsibilities:
- Leadand manage the SEN department ensuring effective implementation ofthe schools SEN policy and procedures.
- Overseethe development review and management of Education Health and CarePlans (EHCPs) for students with special educationalneeds.
- Manage and support a dedicated team ofSEN support staff providing guidance and training to enhance theireffectiveness in delivering tailoredsupport.
- Collaborate with parents teachers andexternal agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supportingstudents with SEN facilitating regular meetings and communicationchannels.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress ofstudents with SEN using data to inform interventions andadjustments to support strategies.
- Lead ontraining and development opportunities for staff raising awarenessof SEN issues and promoting best practices in inclusiveeducation.
- Advocate for the needs of studentswith SEN within the wider school community ensuring their voicesare heard and considered in decisionmakingprocesses.
- Stay updated with currentlegislation guidelines and best practices related to SEN andinclusion ensuring compliance and alignment with nationalstandards.
Qualifications:
- Arecognised SENCO qualification is required demonstrating yourexpertise in the field.
- Proven leadershipexperience within SEN settings with a track record of improvingoutcomes for students with special educationalneeds.
- Strong interpersonal and communicationskills with the ability to build effective relationships withstudents staff and external stakeholders.
- Acommitment to professional development and a passion for fosteringan inclusive learning environment for allstudents.
- A clear DBS check is required toensure the safety and welfare of allstudents.
