Job Summary:

Are you passionate about shaping the early years of children aged 0-5, guiding them through foundational milestones in a nurturing and dynamic setting? We're seeking a Room Leader who embodies creativity, compassion, and commitment to provide exceptional care and education.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a secure, enriching environment where children flourish emotionally, socially, and cognitively.
  • Design and implement engaging activities tailored to each child's developmental stage, fostering curiosity and growth.
  • Monitor progress closely, maintaining accurate developmental records and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Foster strong partnerships with children, families, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative community.
  • Support children's personal care needs with warmth and respect, ensuring their well-being at all times.
  • Champion positive behavior management strategies, nurturing an inclusive atmosphere of mutual respect.
  • Uphold impeccable standards of cleanliness and organization, optimizing the learning environment.
  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance, proactively mitigating risks and responding effectively to emergencies.
  • Embrace ongoing professional development opportunities to refine your skills and knowledge base.
  • Serve as a dedicated key worker, offering tailored support to a designated group of children.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent, demonstrating a solid foundation in childcare.
  • Possess hands-on experience in a nursery or early years setting, nurturing the growth of children aged 0-5.
  • Exhibit a deep understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Showcase exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
  • Thrive in collaborative environments, contributing proactively while also displaying autonomy and flexibility.
  • Radiate positivity, patience, and an authentic enthusiasm for working with young children.
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare, adhering to relevant policies.
  • Familiarity with health and safety protocols is essential, with a willingness to undergo further training as needed.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS clearance, ensuring suitability for working with children.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate, enhancing readiness to respond to medical emergencies.
  • Completion of Safeguarding and Child Protection Training, reinforcing commitment to children's safety.
  • Additional training in areas such as SEN, behavior management, or language development, enriching your skill set.
  • Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and cultures, fostering inclusive practices.

Working Hours: Full Time 

Salary: Competitive, £12-13.50 per hour (depending on experience)
