CALAT Sessional Lecturer Conditions.

Band 1, Pts 3 to 8 - £30.69 to £37.34 (including holiday pay) per hour.

CALAT is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated sessional English tutors to work on a range of courses including:

§Functional Skills English

§Courses in basic literacy for learners with learning support needs

§GCSE English and planned courses to support GCSE learners with language support needs.

All applicants must be qualified in English to a suitable level, with a teaching or training qualification, or Level 3 Award in Education & Training / Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLS) or equivalent, as a minimum.

CALAT has consistently been graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted (last inspection November 2023) and has been at the forefront of Adult Education in Croydon for over 70 years. We continue to deliver high quality courses with passion and dedication and a commitment to providing our learners with maximum support to reach their potential. We deliver to adults who are dedicated and motivated to learn.

Tutoring locations include; online, Central Croydon, Thornton Heath, New Addington and opportunities for community based courses in other parts of the Borough of Croydon.

Our courses take place during daytime, evenings and Saturdays allowing flexibility for tutors to work preferred timings.

Starting pay is £30.69 to £32.02 per hour (including holiday pay), depending on teaching qualification and experience.Tutors holding the equivalent to a Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training / Certificate in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) or above, start at £32.02 (including holiday pay) per hour.
