We have a rare opportunity for you to join our friendly team in this exciting new role. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist who is passionate about working with adults with complex communication and swallowing difficulties who are receiving palliative or end of life care due to a wide range of medical conditions and providing timely support to their families/carers. The role will involve working in both acute hospital and community settings across Wrexham and Flintshire, linking closely with relevant MDTs.

Main duties of the job

You will join a dynamic and innovative team of SLTs and technical instructors, delivering high quality SLT have regular team meetings and have strong links with other specialist services. There is access to regular therapist-led and MDT clinics including Videofluoroscopy and FEES. Development of clinical pathways, leading on/overseeing projects and MDT initiatives will be important aspects of this role as well as training, supporting and mentoring staff. You will work closely with our Team Leaders and other band 7 and 8 staff to continue to drive and shape our services.

Our friendly and supportive department has a strong commitment to CPD and regular clinical supervision. Access to specialist training is available via internal and external courses, as well as mentoring, clinical supervision, attendance at regional and national CEN meetings.

Qualifications

Essential

Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in S< HCPC registered Post graduate study relevant to clinical area at Masters level or equivalent demonstrable experience at this level Able to demonstrate continuing professional development up to date, relevant CPD portfolio. Clinical supervisory experience

Membership of appropriate clinical network group Other professional or academic qualification which relates to clinical practice Accredited Practice Placement Educator Certificate
