The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As an MFL Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and development in modern foreign languages. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand and engage with foreign language coursework.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assisting MFL teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, managing classroom activities, and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Language Practice: Facilitating language practice sessions, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises to improve students' proficiency.
  • Curriculum Support: Aiding in the planning and preparation of MFL lessons, including creating resources and materials to enhance learning.
  • Academic Mentoring: Acting as a mentor for students, offering guidance and support to help them achieve their academic goals in modern foreign languages.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Assisting with or leading extra-curricular activities and language-related clubs.
  • Administrative Tasks: Helping with administrative duties such as record-keeping, grading assignments, and tracking student progress.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Cultural Awareness: Promoting cultural awareness and understanding through language instruction and related activities.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
  • Proficiency in one or more foreign languages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students in their study of modern foreign languages.
  • An empathetic and patient approach to working with students.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to addressing the needs of students.
  • Previous experience working with young people, particularly in an educational setting, is desirable but not essential.
