Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for this new role to support the delivery of a robust surveillance pathway colo-rectal polyps for local East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust patients.
Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK. More than 40,000 patients are diagnosed and more than 16,000 people die from the disease each year. Patients who have pre-malignant polyps detected at colonoscopy are more likely to develop colo-rectal cancer. Endoscopic follow up of patients with polyps is referred to as post-polypectomy surveillance colonoscopy. Surveillance aims to detect and resect pre-malignant polyps and to detect lesions not identified on the initial examination, thereby preventing cancer and reducing colo-rectal cancer mortality.
You should be able to demonstrate all the criteria outlined in the person specification but also demonstrate a desire to develop this role and deliver excellence and quality in all operational and strategic objectives for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.
Main duties of the job

Key duties will include population and maintenance of the polyp surveillance database and preparation of data for clinical review.
