Locaiton: Northampton NN4.

We are looking for an Inclusion Assistant to work in a popular Secondary school in NN4. The school is a popular and oversubscribed mixed secondary school, catering for children between the ages of 11 and 18 years located in Northampton. The school boasts outstanding facilities in a modern well-kept stimulating environment. You will be working closely with Key stages 3 and 4 (ages between 11 and 18). We are interested in applications from people who either in the next year or so or long term may be interested in training to teach. This job will be ideal to prepare you for that and we run our teaching training programme in conjunction with the Northampton Teaching Training in provider and Newman university.

The role:

  • To provide teaching assistance and intervention and one to one tutoring support to students with additional needs.
  • To work closely with the SENCo, teachers and pastoral teams to ensure the needs of students are met.
  • To provide educational support for students with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)
  • To keep working records for each student you support. Track progress and monitor impact.
  • To be the keyworker for named students and link person for home/school liaison.
  • To assist in the preparation of reports and completion of reviews.
  • Assist in providing access arrangements in formal exams for students on the SEN Register.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience of working with children or willingness to engage with appropriate training to develop this experience
  • Degree or A Level
  • Experience of working with children in an educational environment to support learning and development (desirable)
  • Experience of working with Key Stage 3 students in a tutoring or support capacity (desirable)
