Position Details

About the role:

Under the direction of the Administrator, the Behavior Specialist will work closely with staff, students, and families to support the development and implementation of effective behavior interventions. The specialist will be responsible for utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, assisting the IEP team in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), and assisting in the development of behavior plans for students with challenging behaviors.
• Provides consultation and assistance to Ingham ISD program administrators, instructional, and support staff on the planning and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments, Positive Behavior Support Plans, and Emergency Intervention Plans, classroom management systems, and reinforcement systems.
• Plan and supports instruction to students to meet their behavioral and academic needs.
• Presents complex information on behavior, behavioral assessment, and implementation of behavior plans to staff.

About you:

• Master’s degree in education, psychology, social work, applied behavioral sciences or a field of study related to supporting students with significant behavior disorders.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of applied behavior analysis.
• Experience with implementing research-based strategies to address challenging behaviors.
