CK Group are recruiting for an EC&I to join achemical company within the waste management industry. This vacancyis based at their site in Sunderland and is a full time, permanentrole offering a salary upto 38,000 per annum.

Location:

Thisrole is located in Sunderland. The site is easily commutable fromthe surrounding areas via good road links.

Main duties andresponsibilities:
  • Ensurethat all tasks performed are conducted to good Health, Safety andEnvironmental practices, paying particular attention tohousekeeping and that all defects or issues arereported.
  • Participate in risk assessmentsensuring that assessments in place are suitable, up to date andinclude everyday tasks and routines.
  • Aiming toachieve efficient and maximised operation of control equipmentensuring equipment is used safely as per instructions by suitablymonitoring process parameters.
  • To assistE&I supervisor to ensure that electrical maintenance andconstruction schedules are managed, incorporating all requiredroutines whilst minimising plant downtime.
  • Suitable precautions are used to ensureall electrical work, process break-ins and isolations arecommunicated to the permit writer; this must include requiredcleaning or flushing if required and testing prior to startingwork.
  • Managing the disposal of all Companywaste arising s, where applicable identify new disposal routes,which will be operated within Health Safety and EnvironmentalRegulations, and that may offer advantages to the Company. Wheresuch routes are in use, you are, with the assistance of the SHEQManager, to ensure that existing regulations and good practiceregimes are being followed within thesesites.
  • Ensure suitable standards are used forall installations in terms of legislation, best practice andcompany standards. If required, suitable testing and orcalibrations are performed for all equipment / instrumentationprior to handover.
  • Analyse and interpret datain order to resolve breakdowns and problems aroundplant.
  • Report and provide timely feedback onactivities, any handover faults, breakdowns or isolations, nearmisses or alarms through the E&I supervisor using appropriatehandover reports.
  • Positively contribute to theengineering and production department performanceobjectives.

Qualifications,skills andexperience:

  • Comprehensiverange of electrical and instrumentation knowledge with suitableexperience for both trouble shooting and installationwork.
  • Qualifications in hazardous area working(CompEx) and ideally within the wiring regulations (17thedition).
  • Experience and knowledge gainedworking within top tier CoMAH regulations including correspondingenvironmental, health and safety legislative requirements arefundamental to this role.
  • A range of experiencefrom various types of single term controllers to software packagesor PLC logic would be anadvantage.
