JobOverview:

NSS is looking for anexperienced and skilled Surveyor to join our team. This role iscritical in ensuring the successful surveying of various roofingdisciplines contributing to the accurate planning and execution ofroofing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong backgroundin roofing systems be confident in measuring complex roofstructures and have experience working with different machinery andaccess equipment. This position requires flexibility as the roleinvolves significant travel and occasional overnight stays.Additionally the Surveyor will work closely with differentdepartments within the business such as Sales Estimating andHelpdesk to ensure projects run smoothly from start tofinish.

Yourjob will include:

• • Surveying Multiple RoofingDisciplines:
    The Surveyor will beresponsible for conducting comprehensive surveys across variousroofing systems including flat roofs pitched roofs and more complexor specialist roofing disciplines. You must be comfortablediagnosing roofing issues and assessing roof conditions for repairmaintenance or replacement.
  • Measuring Complex RoofStructures:
    You must have the capabilityand confidence to measure and assess various roof structures andmaterials including complex roof sheets ensuring all measurementsare precise for accurate project planning andestimations.
  • Travel andFlexibility:
    This role involvessignificant travel to different sites across the region and in somecases it will require overnight stays to meet the needs of specificprojects. A flexible approach to working hours and locations isessential.
  • Machinery and AccessEquipment Knowledge:
    A strongunderstanding of the machinery and access equipment required forroofing work is necessary. This includes but is not limited toscaffold towers MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) and otherspecialist tools. You should be able to assess what equipment isnecessary for surveys and ensure that they are used safely andefficiently onsite.
  • Collaboration with DifferentDepartments:
    The Surveyor will workclosely with various departments such as Sales Estimating andHelpdesk. Regular communication with these teams will ensure thatall required information is gathered and conveyed accurately forproject planning and customer support. This collaboration is key tomaking sure estimations are precise and all stakeholders areinformed.
  • Report Writing andDocumentation:
    Strong written skills areessential for this role. The Surveyor will be responsible forproducing detailed and accurate reports based on surveys. Thesereports must include all relevant information such as measurementscondition assessments safety concerns and recommendations.Familiarity with digital reporting systems (such as IAuditor) isdesirable.
  • Health &Safety Compliance:
    All surveys must beconducted in compliance with relevant Health & Safetyregulations. The Surveyor will need to identify and report anyrisks or hazards onsite and ensure that all operatives are aware ofand comply with safety protocols. A strong understanding of safetyregulations in the roofing or construction industry iscrucial.

Youare good at:

• • Extensive experience in surveying multiple roofingdisciplines including flat roofs pitched roofs and complex roofstructures.
  • Confidence and accuracy inmeasuring roof sheets and assessing roofing systems.
  • Strong understanding of access equipment and machineryrequired for roofing surveys.
  • Good writtencommunication skills with the ability to produce clear andcomprehensive reports.
  • Comfortable workingcollaboratively with different departments such as Sales Estimatingand Helpdesk to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Fullclean driving license and willingness to travel extensively withthe flexibility to stay away when required.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in theroofing or construction industry.
  • IT literacywith experience using reporting software like IAuditor or similarplatforms.
