An exciting opportunity hasarisen for a Housekeeping and Domestic Services Supervisor to join our friendlyteam. You will take on the rewarding role of supporting the management teamwithin the Facilities Department based at Fieldhead Hospital, Wakefield.
In this busy role you must beable to exercise effective leadership skills in managing performance anddirecting the team. You will be required to communicate with ward anddepartmental managers and will be responsible for monitoring quality standards,compliance and take or facilitate appropriate action as required. The abilityto lead, motivate and mentor staff is essential.
The ideal candidate will haveprevious experience, be able to plan in advance and be well organised. You mustbe flexible, reliable and hardworking with enhanced communication skills at alllevels.
Experience in skills areessential to this role.
The post is subject to a shiftpattern which includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
It is expected to providecover at other areas within the Trust portfolio as required, therefore a fullclean driving licence is essential.
Main duties of the job
Thepost holder will assist in the day to day organisation and supervision of ourHousekeeping and Domestic teams, the main purpose is to ensure safe, effectiveand compliant cleaning and meal services are delivered and maintained. You willbe required to work to and maintain standards as set by the National Standardsof Healthcare Cleanliness.
Inthis busy role you must be able to exercise effective leadership skills inmanaging performance and directing the FM cleaning services team. You will berequired to communicate with ward and departmental managers and will beresponsible for monitoring quality standards, compliance and take or facilitateappropriate action as required.
Theability to lead, motivate and mentor staff is essential.
Theideal candidate will have previous experience, be able to plan in advance, bewell organised, be flexible, reliable and hardworking with enhancedcommunication skills at all levels.

Qualifications
Essential
Award in Leadership and Management or equivalent (Level 3) or commitment to work towards.
Desirable
Certificate in Leadership & Management (Level 3) or equivalent. Level 2 Certificate in Control of Infection and Contamination (or equivalent). Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene.
Experience
Essential
Demonstrable supervisory experience. Working knowledge of Health & Safety and Risk Assessments. Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
