Advanced Occupational Therapist – Orthopaedics.

Are you looking for a new challenge? We have an opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking and innovative Occupational Therapist to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants. The post holder will have opportunity to work across trauma, elective and day case surgery. You will be expected to be the driving force behind the OT service and will be responsible for overseeing the supervision and development of the OT’s and therapy assistants within the team.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing assessment, treatment and discharge planning to a wide variety of Orthopaedic inpatients, including contributing to the ongoing development of the service provision on the hip fracture unit. Initially the post holder will play a significant role in contributing to the progression of pathways and patient information across the trauma side of the service, and lead on a project to review the current pre-assessment provision for Elective patients.

This post would suit an experienced band 6 looking to specialise in the field of orthopaedics and who is ready to embrace the challenge of a band 7 role.

The post holder will be expected to be an active member of the Orthopaedic weekend rota. Part time hours would be considered.
