Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary

Location: South Shields
Salary: £75-£110 per day
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long Term

About the Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary, you will support teachers in delivering high-quality education to primary school students. You will assist in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment, helping students to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with their academic and social development.
  • Prepare classroom materials and resources.
  • Assist with the assessment and tracking of student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support student learning.

Requirements

  • A recent graduate with a degree in any discipline.
  • A passion for working with children and a desire to pursue a career in education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with children (voluntary or paid) is desirable.
