Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day preventative and reactive maintenance activities in their designated area and will initiate and be involved in process improvement and project activities. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Engineering Team Leader.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work closely with other Technicians, Operators, Team Leaders and Managers in own and other departmentsWork safely and always promotes safe working practices and in compliance with national and company standardsMaintain plant and equipment such as reaction/mixing vessels, decant stations and pumping systemsConduct safety and condition checks and on plant and equipment across the site but mainly in your designated areaEnsure Emaint is updated to track maintenance activities and recordsPlanning Maintenance activities, reactive or preventive, and communicating with the Planning and Production teamsEnsure that reactive and preventive maintenance work lists are completed on timeEscalate to the Engineering Team Leader any unresolve constraintsEnsure all work is carried out in accordance with all company procedures including maintenance procedures, permits, risk assessments and method statementsStand in for other Technicians to cover holidays and other periods of absence as requiredCarry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by the Team Leader or ManagementMaintain high standards of housekeeping in all areas of the maintenance department and when working on siteHelp create and develop standard maintenance operating proceduresConduct relevant risk assessments in conjunction with the compliance teamProvide effective administration and work within the Company Safety, Health, Environment and Quality SystemsSupport other members of the Engineering Team with the feasibility, specification, procurement and installation of new plant and equipment

Minimum Requirements:

Qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent in a relevant subjectAppropriate IT skills (competent user of Emaint, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and the company ERP system)Permit writing (depending on sign-off authority and experience)DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulation 2002) awarenessPID (Pipework and Instrumentation Diagram) awarenessCommitted to achieving excellence in equipment availability and reliabilityFLT License is beneficial
