About the role

Salary: £29,

Shift allowance: £5,

As a VTS Operator working within our Forth and Tay Navigation Service at the Port of Grangemouth, your key responsibilities will include supporting the Duty Assistant Harbour Master in the operation of the Vessel Traffic System to ensure the safety and efficiency of all shipping movements.

This is a shore-based operation with working hours which allows for long periods of rostered time off between shift cycles as well as a competitive salary. You will work a 12-hour shift system covering 24 hours/ days per year.

The team are also open to considering candidates who would like to work on a part-time basis, so please indicate this during the application.

What are we looking for?

Ideally you will hold an Officer of the Watch certificate however we would consider candidates with demonstrated marine experience.

You will have a thorough knowledge of port related marine matters and should be familiar with marine operations on the Forth and Tay Estuaries.

Knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code, Pilotage and Towage operations is also desirable

You will also have excellent communication, IT and planning skills and a good appreciation of the health and safety standards within a port environment

Possession of a C- Certificate would be advantageous. However, as VTS Operators must attain this qualification, any training you require to achieve this will be arranged for you

You all need to have a full UK driving licence
