Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic Occupational Therapist to work in Holywell Community Hospital. The successful candidate will have significant experience working within adult physical health services. You will be working with people who have complex needs, promoting a person-centred approach to rehabilitation and contributing to discharge planning.

It is an exciting time to join this supportive and forward thinking multi-disciplinary team, who are currently implementing a new approach to community hospital rehabilitation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to this service development as well as further develop your clinical and leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

You will be a self-motivated practitioner, with an ability think on your feet, and will have developed effective problem solving and communication skills. You should be able to demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills and be able to implement strategies to minimise the impact of deconditioning. You will also require excellent communication, organisational and time management skills and be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service.

You will be supporting junior members of the team on a day to day basis through supervision, preceptorship and appraisals. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to wider service developments audits, meetings, recruitment etc.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
