About The Role
**Please note that this position is part-time for 22.2 hours a week with a pro-rata salary from £20,037 up to £21,974 per annum**
EKC Ashford College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Programming Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various programming languages and technologies, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students. This role involves designing and delivering a comprehensive programming curriculum, providing individualized and group instruction, and guiding students through practical coding projects. The Programming lecturer will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive learning environment and collaborating with other educators to integrate programming into broader educational initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to inspire and prepare students for success in the rapidly evolving tech industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Design and deliver a comprehensive programming curriculum covering various languages such as Python, Java, C++, and web development technologies.
Instruction: Provide engaging and effective tutoring sessions for students of different skill levels, both individually and in groups.
Technology Integration: Incorporate the latest tools and technologies in programming to enhance the learning experience.
Project Guidance: Mentor students through coding projects, ensuring practical application of programming concepts.
Student Support: Create a supportive learning environment, offering personalized assistance and feedback to help students achieve their goals.
Collaboration: Work with other educators and staff to integrate programming into broader educational initiatives and projects.

About You
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, creative and be able to plan and teach engaging and innovative lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills. Assessing and tracking student progress, to further plan intervention this will be a vital part of the role and ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.
Ideally you will have experience of teaching or have delivered training in the workplace although this isn't essential as training will be offered to the successful applicant. You must have a positive outlook, be empathetic towards learners and have strong class management skills.
The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of designated study programs and/ or courses from Level 1 up to Level 3 and will be able to motivate learners to achieve and succeed on their programmes of study
