Job Title: SiteBasedMechanical Engineer (Plumbing Bias) FacilitiesManagement

PositionOverview: We are currently seeking a skilled andexperienced SiteBased Mechanical Engineer with a focus on plumbingto join our Facilities Management team. The successful candidatewill be responsible for overseeing all mechanical systems with aparticular emphasis on plumbing maintenance and repair. A fullclean drivers license is required for this role as travel betweensites will be necessary. While the role emphasizes plumbingfamiliarity with all mechanical systems including HVAC ventilationand general building systems isessential.

KeyResponsibilities:

  1. Plumbing Maintenance andRepair:
  • Conductroutine inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems includingpipes fixtures pumps and water heaters to ensure efficientoperation and prevent issues.
  • Diagnoseplumbing problems such as leaks clogs or malfunctions and implementappropriate repairs or replacements in a timely manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as flushingwater heaters cleaning drains and testing water pressure to extendthe lifespan of plumbing equipment.
General Mechanical SystemsOversight:
  • Maintaina comprehensive understanding of all mechanical systems within thefacility including HVAC ventilation and other building systems toprovide support and assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with technicians and contractors totroubleshoot complex mechanical issues and coordinate repairs orupgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Monitor the performance of mechanical systems throughregular inspections data analysis and equipment testing identifyingareas for improvement and implementing correctiveactions.
Health andSafety Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations andstandards in all plumbing and mechanical maintenanceactivities.
  • Conduct risk assessments andimplement appropriate safety measures to mitigate potential hazardsassociated with plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence tosafety protocols among maintenance staff andcontractors.
Documentation andReporting:
  • Maintainaccurate records of maintenance activities equipment inventory andperformance metrics related to plumbing and mechanicalsystems.
  • Prepare detailed reports onmaintenance activities including work completed issues encounteredand recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with the facility management team to developbudgets forecasts and expenditure reports related to plumbing andmechanical maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience inmechanical engineering plumbing or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role with a focus on plumbingmaintenance and repair in a facilities management or similarenvironment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge ofplumbing systems including piping materials fixtures pumps andwater treatment processes.
  • Familiarity withother mechanical systems including HVAC ventilation and generalbuilding systems is essential.
  • Strongproblemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complexmechanical issues effectively.
  • Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills with the ability to workcollaboratively in a team environment.
  • Fullclean drivers license with the ability to travel between sites asrequired.
