Project

 

Theproject is focused on Open RAN systems integration, core networksetup, and project management. Key components include Remote RadioUnits, Centralised Units, and Distributed Units. The project aimsto develop a new MOCN gateway compliant with industry standards andintegrate Open RAN small cells from cellXica and otherproviders.

 

Furthermore,the role involves collaborating with Systems Integrator Virtuser todesign electro/mechanical systems aimed at reducing size, weight,power consumption, and visual impact. There's a focus onmanaging and accounting for power consumption, along withdelivering an eco-friendly Mobile Insertion capability fordeployment at temporaryevents.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise,Operate and Lead an OpenRAN integrationLab
  • Track record of managing and developing ateam
  • Training and Development of Apprentices(LPI and TIP Qualifications)
  • Build andConfiguration of (Dell & equivalent) Server Configuration– Ubuntu/Linux/ KubernetesEnvironment
  • Working with Suppliers and ProjectPartners to organise and coordinate SystemsIntegration
  • Management of Data Centre / CommsRoom Facilities (e.g. Bath Guildhall,Telehouse)
  • Setup & Maintain NetworkMonitoring – Office Kit, Deployed Radios,Servers
