Job Description

Working as part of the Finance D365 Systems team under the direction of the Finance Transactional Systems Manager and supported by two junior team members:
 

Configuration management & Defect resolution
• Preparation, testing & deployment of all new functionality or localisations to both new & existing sites
• Ensuring solution is adequately tested and defects are resolved

Localisation Support
• Working with the Finance deployment team to ensure localisation requirements are understood
• Assess whether functional third party consultant/development support is required and ensure requirements are sufficiently scoped where appropriate
• Work with the third party to ensure configured/developed solution meets needs

Data Migration & Cutover:
Working with IT, local finance teams and our functional deployment teams to ensure:
• They have mapped legacy data appropriately to D365, signing off proposed extraction criteria and transformation logic
• Data reconciliation templates are fit for purpose, providing a clear audit trail back to the GL/source data/D365 and any reconciliation differences are easily identifiable.
• Finance data meets the required quality standards and is appropriately cleansed and enriched.
• Data migration reconciliation issues are addressed and resolved prior to cutover
• Migration journals have been prepared & posted prior to a site going live

Early life Support
Triage & investigate any issues arising during early life support, ensuring any issues requiring third party technical assistance are escalated where required
BAU Activities
Finance System Administration
• Maintain master data within D365 including Chart of Accounts, Finance dimensions, Account Rules. Apply appropriate governance, ensuring changes are only made with appropriate approval from the master data owner and across all systems necessary to maintain alignment
• Maintain foreign exchange rates within D365
• Housekeeping of unused/old PR/PO/Projects/Suppliers etc
• D365 Year End Rollover
• Customise D365 excel upload templates where required

System Maintenance:
• Work closely with IT to minimise the impact of any system downtime/upgrade/maintenance on finance activities

Finance System(s) User Support
• Maintain the Finance Systems Helpdesk, being the first point of contact for any Finance specific system queries or problems
• Work with finance end users to understand the issue, using system knowledge to conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying problem, providing resolution if able.
• Escalate technical issues as required to the D365 IT Helpdesk and third party support providers
• Proactively identify end user training opportunities to optimise use of the system and flag to the Finance Process Analysts for delivery

Integrations/Feeder Systems 
• Monitor the integrity of data flows in and out of the finance systems and ensure an appropriate control environment exists to provide confidence in completeness, accuracy and timeliness of data. 
• Take appropriate steps where necessary to address any areas where data transfer has failed and where necessary, work with & escalate issues to the IT helpdesk for further investigation and resolution.

System Development/Optimisation 
• Assist in the continuous improvement of our finance systems, working with the finance teams/ IT/3rd party advisors to oversee development of our finance systems, where necessary


Qualifications

Essential

  • Good level of knowledge and experience of Finance Systems and processes within packages such as Oracle, SAP or D365
  • Strong interest in the maintenance and upkeep of finance systems
  • Highly organised; flexible and focussed with an easy ability to prioritise
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written skills (ability to communicate across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders)
  • Functional system administration experience
  • Finance system Implementation experience

Desirable

  • Experience with D365 and associated tools such as workflows and Electronic Reporter
  • Exposure to finance localisation requirements outside of the UK
  • Part/full qualified Accountant
  • Experience of the Microsoft Power Platform/RPA automation technology
  • Numerate and Analytical skill set with strong Excel and Power BI skills
