We are looking for a motivated and experienced Workshop Controller to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Job Description
As a Workshop Controller at Steer Automotive Group, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy workshop. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all vehicle repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest standard. You will manage a team of technicians, coordinate workflow, and maintain communication between the workshop and the front-of-house staff.
Key Responsibilities
Workflow Coordination : Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the workshop, ensuring optimal workflow and efficiency. Job Allocation : Allocate jobs to technicians based on their skills and expertise. Progress Monitoring : Monitor the progress of repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely completion. Quality Assurance : Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets company and industry standards. Communication : Liaise with service advisors and customers to provide updates on vehicle status. Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Technical Support : Assist in diagnosing complex vehicle issues and provide technical support to technicians. Inventory Management : Manage inventory levels and order parts as needed. Staff Training : Train and mentor new staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Requirements
Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or similar role in the automotive industry. Significant technical background with a comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems and repairs. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in using workshop management software and other computer applications.
