An exciting opportunity has become available for a dynamic experienced Leather and Costume Jewellery Artisan with a minimum of ‘three years’ experience to join our UK Fashion Repair division within the ultimate house of luxury. You will be joining an established team at a time where we are expanding and increasing our service offer to include a new inhouse Leather Restoration service.

You will primarily be responsible for leather goods and CJ repairs however certain shoe and sunglasses repairs will be required to contribute to the daily running of the atelier. The role will cover all aspects of repair management, including the initial assessment and completion of repairs while working with the administration team to provide updates for the boutiques. 

As part of this exciting new role you will work closely with the other artisans to find repair solutions for both client and stock request whilst contributing to spare part orders and inventory management. With 8 collections being created per year each request requires to be assessed on a case by case basis. You will leverage your experience and product knowledge to provide the best solution. You will report to the Master of the Atelier who will provide further training to increase your skillset to include other product categories.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

Completion of technical repairs within the company standards and leadtimes

Preforming quality checks on completed work

Mastery of hand and machine repairs

Consistent learning of new techniques and skills

Support the ordering, inventory control, organisation and replenishment of spare parts

Handling and attaching metallic fittings precisely with attention to detail.

Have pride in their practical work and a respect for the work processes, tools and machinery.

Be able to assess repairs individually and provide accurate quotations of repairs to the boutique.

Cooperate with staff members ensure the smooth operation of the fashion atelier.

Have excellent problem solving and organisational skills and show initiative.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Ability to train a select group of aftersales specialiston a regular basis

Be flexible to working hours as the business demands.

Understands the basic health/safety and fire procedures in an atelier.

You are energized by..

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, communitive and has a eye for detail.

You will have a strong understanding of materials such as lambskin and calfskin as well as tweed, jersey and canvas as well as good knowledge of costume jewellery and restringing techniques.

You will contribute to providing a luxury service to 9 fashionboutiques in the UK and Ireland.

Actively participating in team meetings to build on the team work ethic and the strong relationships we have with the boutique aftersales specialists. 

Takingpride in your work and the reputation of the dept.

Show excellent planning, problem-solving, organisational and communication skills 

Engaging in a high level of collaboration with your colleagues to problem solve on a day to daybasis 

Passing information onto boutique staff both verbally and in writing to explain the actions you have made on a repaired item. 

Welcoming visitors as and when training days are organized.

With the main portion of the role being at the workbench, a strong and organised work ethic is essential. Strong problem solving skills will be required for all tasks. You will also enjoy working both individually and collaboratively with the team. You will also bring experience of managing workflow, meeting targets and meeting deadlines. A strong eye for detail and a willingness to learn about other categories such as shoe and costume jewellery
